What does it mean to work in live chat support?

Answering the question of “What is a chat support agent?” is pretty easy. In a nutshell, they are the people who communicate with their customers over the Internet in real-time, usually through a messaging module built into a company’s website. But what does being a member of chat customer support team entail?

It means being an empathic, hardworking person that does their best to look for a solution to a customer’s problems. Not everybody is suited for this line of work. It takes a special kind of person to prosper in this kind of business, even if you’re mostly talking in text form.
